What's on the river in Bangkok?

In Bangkok the river is where the night happens. Last New Year the biggest fireworks went up over the Chao Phraya at ICONSIAM, with drones and pyrotechnics from 27 to 31 December, and Tanner plans a private river boat route around this year's show. The rest of the city counted down too, at CentralWorld, along Sukhumvit and at the NEON Countdown at Rajamangala, as the table shows.

Beach countdown or boat in Pattaya?

Do both. Last year the Pattaya Countdown ran on Pattaya Beach from 29 to 31 December, from 4pm each night. Spend the day out on Pattaya Bay on your own boat, then be back on the sand for midnight.

How do you reach Haad Rin by boat?

Get to the Full Moon New Year's Eve party by private boat from Koh Samui, at the return time you choose. The Full Moon New Year countdown is on Haad Rin, Koh Phangan, on Thursday 31 December 2026, a week after the 24 December Full Moon Party.

What goes into a New Year villa?

A New Year villa in Thailand is your own venue: your music, your bar and your guest list. Tanner adds the parts that turn a villa into the party.

What else is on over New Year?

New Year in Thailand also has a music festival that runs right over the countdown. Fly to the Moon runs from Tuesday 29 December 2026 to Saturday 2 January 2027 on Koh Mak, in Trat, and it's for guests 21 and over.

How many days do you need?

Plan four days for New Year in Thailand. 31 December and 1 January are both bank holidays, and they run into the weekend, to Sunday 3 January. Land a day or two before, do a boat day, take the countdown on the 31st and recover in the villa.

The yacht night itself runs like this: board in the late afternoon, watch the sunset from the deck, have dinner on board and be out on the water for the countdown at midnight. Then your driver takes you to the villa for the after-party.
