Full Moon Party Dates
In short
The next Full Moon Party on Haad Rin Beach, Koh Phangan, is 24 November 2026, with dancing until sunrise.
When are the next Full Moon Party dates?
Full Moon Party dates for the rest of 2026 are Tuesday 24 November, Thursday 24 December and the New Year countdown on Thursday 31 December. In 2027 the party runs every month, from Friday 22 January to the New Year 2028 countdown on Friday 31 December 2027. When a full moon lands on a Buddhist holy day, the party moves to the next day, so older calendars can be a day out.
Party nights on Haad Rin are busy. Book your boat and your bed first. Ask Tanner to book your boat and bed.

Where is the party?
The party is on Haad Rin Beach, at the southern tip of Koh Phangan. Once a month Haad Rin turns into one long dance floor: every bar on the sand plays its own music, fire shows light the beach, and it goes on until sunrise. It isn't on Phuket or Koh Samui, but Samui next door has the airport, and your own boat gets you across.
The party fills the beach and the town behind it, with local bars setting up stages along the sand. More nights on the islands are in Koh Phangan festivals. Ask Tanner where to stay near Haad Rin.

What's the night like?
At the Full Moon Party Haad Rin turns into one long dance floor, and every bar on the beach plays its own music, from commercial hits and EDM to reggae, drum and bass and techno. You walk the beach and pick your stage.
The party starts once the sun goes down and goes on until sunrise, with fire shows along the sand.
Want a second night? The Half Moon Festival in the Magic Forest sells each of its dates on Megatix, its official seller.
Ask Tanner which night suits your group.
How do you enjoy the night well?
Enjoy the Full Moon Party by keeping it simple: shoes on, valuables in your room and a plan for the ride home.
- Wear shoes: it's a beach party on the sand until sunrise.
- Travel light: leave your passport and valuables in your room, and carry enough cash for the night.
- Keep your drink with you: buy it sealed, or watch it poured at the bar, and keep it in your hand.
- Know where help is: clinics and first-aid points around Haad Rin stay open all night on party nights, and the Tourist Police are on 1155 if you need a hand.
- Drink water: pace yourself, it's a long night.
- Fix your ride home: your own boat or driver at the time you choose.
Ask Tanner to have your boat waiting.
How to do it in style
Tanner's pick: stay on Koh Samui and take your own boat. A private Full Moon boat runs from Samui to Haad Rin and back at the return time you choose; the price depends on the boat, and Tanner quotes to your plan. You cross together, dance until you're done, and walk straight onto your boat.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty, and leave your passport in your room. That's all the packing the night needs.
Here for Christmas and New Year? Build the boat into a New Year festival trip. Ask Tanner for a boat quote.
Do you need a ticket?
No. There's nothing to buy in advance: the organiser's own site lists the party dates, not tickets.
The money that matters is getting there and where you sleep. Ask Tanner what the trip costs.
Before you go
Book
Your boat and your bed first
Check the date: holy days move it a day
Fast ferry from Samui or Surat Thani: 45–90 min
On the night
Comfortable clothes
Shoes you don't mind getting dirty
Leave your passport in your room
How do you get to Haad Rin?
Haad Rin is reached by boat. Seatran sells Full Moon night speedboat seats, one way or round trip, and Lomprayah runs boats to Koh Phangan from Koh Samui and Surat Thani.
If you fly, there are two ways in. Land at Koh Samui airport and take the boat from Bangrak Pier, or land at Surat Thani airport and take Lomprayah's airport-to-island ticket. From Bangkok by road, Lomprayah sells a VIP bus and boat ticket to Koh Phangan from Khao San and Pinklao. Read Getting to Koh Phangan for the Full Moon for every route.
Staying on Samui? Koh Samui to Koh Phangan has every pier, boat and Full Moon night tip, and Bangkok to Koh Samui has the flights.
For your own boat on the night, a private Full Moon boat takes you there and back when you choose. For a day on the water first, add a Koh Samui catamaran. Ask Tanner which way in suits you.
Is there a party on New Year's Eve?
Yes. The New Year 2027 countdown is on Thursday 31 December 2026 at Haad Rin, a week after the 24 December party. The New Year 2028 countdown follows on Friday 31 December 2027.
That makes Christmas to New Year one long island week. Compare it with the city countdowns in New Year countdown in Thailand. Ask Tanner to hold Christmas to New Year.
Plan a VIP trip around the full moon
Plan a VIP trip around one party date and a few days on the islands. You can stay on Koh Samui and cross over for the night.
- Your base: a private pool villa from ฿18,500 a day.
- The crossing: your own Full Moon boat from Samui, at the return time you choose.
- The calendar: pair the 24 December party with the 31 December countdown on a New Year trip in Thailand.
Plan it with Tanner: say which full moon and how many of you, and he builds the whole trip.
Your full moon night in short
