Sukhothai, Chiang Mai or Bangkok for Loy Krathong?
Sukhothai is worth it if you want Loy Krathong in an old city rather than a big one: light shows among the ruins, and krathongs on the park's ponds instead of a busy river. Pick Chiang Mai for the lanterns (Yi Peng) and Bangkok for the river (Loy Krathong in Bangkok). All three share Loy Krathong night on Tuesday 24 November 2026.
Ask Tanner to plan one city or two.
